Secure Communication
Pick a channel based on what metadata you can accept leaking ā not just whether the message body is encrypted.
Recommended Methods
- PGP-encrypted messages
- XMPP with OTR/OMEMO
- Session messenger
- Use Tor-routed clients instead of clearnet messaging apps
Content is fully encrypted, but subject lines, sender, recipient, and timing are generally visible to the mail provider or platform.
End-to-end encrypted content; servers can be self-hosted. Delivery still depends on a server that sees who talks to whom and when.
No phone number required. Messages route through a decentralized network designed to reduce metadata exposure compared to centralized chat apps.
Encryption Isn't the Whole Story
Even with content fully encrypted, who you talk to and when can itself be a signal an observer correlates over time. Channel choice and timing habits matter independently of encryption strength.
